Lainston is a classic late C17th country house outside Winchester, for many years the home of the Craig-Harvey family. Now an hotel, it retains all the old house's beautiful features but one can now eat outside on the tented terrace and enjoy the superb view of the lime avenue and parkland below. Click

Lainston House's prices have risen somewhat - about £130 for two for the 'Avenue Restaurant' lunch, including drinks - before plus a modest wine - and cofee.Portions are also modest.But,ofcourse,you pay for the ambiance and the service!
